Harvard is in the house 3-27-08

We are one of the few places in the Habitat network that welcomes the rain. Courtesy of the weather we had Harvard with us today. We worked continuing the ceiling grid in the appliance area as well as changing the tiles out in our break / board room. The effort went toward making a huge difference in the appearance of the break room. They also found time to help with the sorting of overstock in our store room. We wish you a safe return trip home and offer an open invite for the future. Thanks to all for giving the one thing we are in limited supply of, TIME.

Eastern Stops in on March 22, 2008

We welcomed the Eastern Kentucky University students this week. They helped in our appliance area ceiling project, as well as the unloading of a truck. We were able to fill our retail space with some much needed inventory. Thanks to all for the effort. We all were tired that afternoon. We hope to see you again soon. Thanks for all the time you gave and all we accomplished.

UNH & Manchester Lends a Helping Hand 3-19-08

We would again like to thank the weather as it afforded these wonderful young people the opportunity to stop in and help out. We know the ReStore work is not the part of Habitat that most are interested in. We are not building homes hands on, we are a financial supporter of that. The willingness of the groups that come by is amazing, this group was no exception. We worked on drywall, ceiling grids, as well as a revamp of the break area. Thanks to their hard work, we are closer than ever to getting the ReStore complete. We wish you and your college the best and invite you into Berea anytime.

Our Thanks to the Beloit and William & Mary Students

On Tuesday we were blessed by the weather. That is these groups were scheduled to be building in Lexington, due to the weather conditions they were able to come down to our facilities and give us a much needed helping hand.

We were able to get many of the remaining building renovations done. They hung the rest of the drywall and mudded it, moved many items into the retail area, and assisted us in some pricing and merchandising. The store looks great and is better stocked.

Thanks to each of you for all the help. We invite you back anytime, maybe the weather will prove to be more cooperative for your next visit. on the brighter side, at least you missed the snow.
Keep in touch, let us know how you are doing.

The Blitz was a HUGE Success

We are now recovering from our overnight blitz at the ReStore. It was a huge Success. We want to thank our Berea College Chapter for their continued support of our store. I believe that our success solely relies on volunteers like them, and their dedication to our mission.
To see the drive and effort these young people put into all they do within our Affiliate offers hope to securing our future, not only locally in Madison and Clark Counties, but throughout the country as they will return home after graduation and continue making a difference in the lives of others.

Thanks for a job WELL DONE. I hope this proves to be one of many opportunities we will have to work together.

The Feburary Blitz

We are planning a Late Night Blitz for Our Berea College Chapter scheduled from 6pm till ???.
We invite you out to this as it will prove to be a night of fun, fellowship, and accomplishment. We plan to clear our holding areas to make room for more inventory coming from our warehouse.

Once the work is complete let's have some fun playing Pool, Air Hockey, Games, or watching a Movie. Don't forget the Pizza. The Ladies of our Chuches will be providing snacks, Like brownies, candies, and cupcakes ( for those of us who indulge ourselves with these things) .

This is open to anyone over 18 willing to help us out with a little hard work and a lot of laughter.
